Working Assumptions is proud to support students, teachers, and organizations who participate in the wrkxfmly classroom assignment by offering a mini-grant program to help fund exhibitions and related projects that reach the general public.
In May, we awarded a grant to Lower Manhattan Community School for a pop-up exhibition of student work in Bowling Green Park. Hundreds of students, parents, and passersby engaged with (and asked great questions about!) photos exhibited on portable walls set up in the park. The exhibition was the initiative of digital art teacher Jessica Sinclair and Working Assumptions teaching artist Alice Proujansky, and featured work by eighth graders participating in wrkxfmly for the first time.
