We invite learners of all ages to look deeply at everyday life: take a photograph, reflect on it, and write about what you see.

At Working Assumptions, we believe visual storytelling helps us all see family and care with fresh eyes. Our offerings include artist-led classes and workshops, as well as free curricula and activity guides that can be used in a variety of contexts. Join us in telling your stories, engaging in meaningful conversations, and learning together.

The wrkxfmly [work times family] exercise is a national, in-classroom program that offers learners and educators the opportunity to share visual stories about the interplay of work and family.

View photographs from this program in our Student Collection.

The Learning Hub offers free lessons and resources for educators and learners.

We invite you to download and use these free resources.

In 2013, the wrkxfmly program began in one California school. Since then, it has reached 17 states and 95 schools, and community organizations.

Meet the teaching artists who make our programs a reality.
